About Asociatia Romana din Canada

The Romanian Association of Canada was founded in October 1952, being the first secular Romanian cultural association in Canada.

In 1953, the status of non-profit incorporation was obtained by the founding members: Gheorghe Loghiade, Gheorghe Stanciu, Petre Sultana, Miron Georgescu, Nichita Tomescu, Florin Marghescu, Ion Taranu , Alexandru Fonta and Pop Mihai.

The Romanian Association of Canada aims to keep the Romanian identity alive, organizing cultural, educational or social activities.

Goals

- To provide its members with an appropriate framework where they can meet in an atmosphere of mutual trust.
- To discuss the problems of newcomers and the possibilities of adaptation in Canada.
- To preserve the Romanian identity, organizing cultural, educational or social activities.
